The clash between UEFA and FIFA has intensified, with European football's governing body officially opposing FIFA's plan to involve private investors in the management of international competitions.

According to reports, FIFA aims to allow private investors to acquire a stake in a company that would manage the commercial rights and operations of the FIFA World Cup and other competitions.

FIFA has also given its member associations until **September 19** to support the proposal. According to UEFA, federations that refuse to back the plan risk losing a substantial one-time payment worth several million dollars.

In its official statement, UEFA said the deadline and the financial condition attached to it clearly reveal the nature of the project.

"Today we learned of the deadline FIFA has imposed on member associations to support its proposals, otherwise the offer of a one-time financial payment will be withdrawn. That tells you everything you need to know about this plan," the statement said.

UEFA added that, after consultations with many stakeholders in football, it has found that opposition to this scheme is strong and continues to grow.

"FIFA cannot continue using our sport to enrich itself and its friends.

We can develop football in the right way. The time has come to give priority to federations, clubs, leagues, players, and fans," UEFA emphasized in its statement.

This clash between the two biggest institutions in football is expected to influence debates over the way international competitions are managed and financed in the coming years.
