The 2026 World Cup did more than crown a new champion—it also reshaped the hierarchy of world football. Following the tournament, the latest transfer market valuations have placed two players at the top who are widely regarded as the future of the sport: Lamine Yamal and Erling Haaland.

The Spaniard and the Norwegian are each valued at €220 million, making them the most valuable footballers in history. For the first time ever, a player has surpassed the symbolic €200 million mark in market value.

Yamal reached this valuation after an outstanding World Cup campaign with Spain, who were crowned world champions, while Haaland once again confirmed his status as one of the most dominant strikers in modern football. Behind them is Kylian Mbappé. The Real Madrid forward, who scored 10 goals for France at the World Cup, retains a market value of €200 million and remains one of the most sought-after players in European football.

The biggest increase in value belongs to Michael Olise. The Bayern Munich winger set the record for the most assists in a single World Cup and is now valued at €170 million, climbing to fourth place in the rankings. Rounding out the top five is Jude Bellingham, with a market value of €160 million. The England midfielder continues to establish himself as a leader for his national team and one of the most complete players of his generation.

Also on the rise are Elliot Anderson and Julián Álvarez, who are now valued at €120 million and €110 million, respectively. Pedri remains among the world's most valuable footballers, while Vinícius Jr. sits just behind him with a €10 million difference in market value.

Meanwhile, two icons of modern football, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, remain on the list, but with significantly lower valuations compared to the peaks of their careers. The Argentine is valued at €15 million, while the Portuguese star is worth €10 million, a clear reflection of the changing of the guard.

World football is entering a new era, where youth, talent, and potential are setting new market records and shaping the next generation of superstars.
