At the latest meeting of the Council of Ministers, the decisions taken were announced.
The first decision communicated by Economy Minister Delina Ibrahimaj was the indexation of pensions by 2.7%, starting from July 1 of this year, meaning pensions will increase by 2.7%.
According to the minister, around 900,000 citizens benefit from this decision.
“I want to start with a decision related to pensioners. Today at the meeting of the Council of Ministers, we approved the indexation of pensions. For 2026, it is a decision that is gradually returning to its usual framework.
During 2022, amid the energy crisis, we indexed pensions twice, in April and October, and they remained fixed in October.
Starting this year, from July 1, we will index pensions by 2.7%, meaning all old-age pensions, as well as special pensions or maternity benefits, will be included. There are around 900,000 beneficiaries who, from July 1, will have their payments indexed by 2.7%,” Ibrahimaj stated, among other remarks.
