June has begun with high temperatures across Albania. Meteorologist Tanja Porja warned that temperatures will rise to as much as 34°C in some areas of the country.
“Today, maximum temperatures range from 26–28°C in the northernmost parts of Albania to 34°C in Elbasan and Berat. Along the coastline, temperatures will reach 31–32°C,” Porja said on the program Dita Jonë.
The meteorologist forecasts that the hot weather will continue throughout the week. On Thursday, there may be isolated rainfall in the north of the country, along with a slight cooling of the weather from Wednesday afternoon until Thursday. However, temperatures are expected to remain above 30°C even during those days, she emphasized.
“Thursday may bring some rainfall in the north, but overall this week will be mostly sunny, and temperatures will remain quite high. Today we expect at least 34°C, and similar values will continue throughout the week. Mornings are becoming warmer day by day, except for Friday morning. From midday Wednesday until midday Thursday, there will be a slight cooling of weather conditions, but temperatures will still stay above 30°C. Today, we can expect sunshine and high temperatures,” said the meteorologist.
According to her, winds will blow from the southwest at light to moderate intensity, with stronger effects felt in the eastern half of the country.
