The Transparency Board has changed fuel prices again.

According to the latest announcement, the price of diesel has been reduced by 5 lek and will not exceed 190 lek per liter, while the wholesale price will not exceed 178 lek per liter.

The price of petrol has also changed. It will not exceed 179 lek per liter at retail, while the wholesale price will not exceed 167 lek per liter.

On May 27, 2026, at its regular meeting, the Transparency Board decided:

The retail price of diesel (standard SSH EN 590) will not exceed 190 lek per liter, while the wholesale price will not exceed 178 lek per liter.

The retail price of petrol (standard SSH EN) will not exceed 179 lek per liter, while the wholesale price will not exceed 167 lek per liter.

The set prices entered into force today, May 27 at 13:30, and will remain valid until the next board meeting, when any changes will be reflected.

Operators in fuel wholesale and retail are required to comply with this decision.

In case of violations, suspension of activity may be imposed.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, says it is committed to protecting consumer interests and maintaining fair competition in the market.

Clarification: According to Law No. 1, dated 3.4.2026 on excise duties, if the retail price of diesel exceeds 220 lek/liter or petrol exceeds 200 lek/liter, a reduced 80% excise rate applies. Since current prices are below these thresholds, the full 100% excise rate remains in effect.
