Fuel prices have changed again. The Transparency Board decided to reduce the price of diesel to 193 lek per liter, down from 196 lek per liter previously. Meanwhile, petrol will be sold at 179 lek per liter. The price adjustment comes after a drop in fuel prices on international markets, with expectations linked to possible negotiations with Iran.
FULL DECISION:
The retail price of diesel (standard SSH EN 590) will be no more than 193 lek per liter, while the wholesale price will be no more than 181 lek per liter.
The retail price of petrol (standard SSH EN) will be no more than 179 lek per liter, while the wholesale price will be no more than 167 lek per liter.
The prices set by the Board will enter into force today at 13:30 and will remain valid until the next board meeting, when any further price changes will be reflected.
All wholesale and retail fuel operators are warned about the obligation to comply with this decision.
In case of violations by operators, suspension of activity will be imposed.
The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, is committed to protecting the interests of Albanian consumers and maintaining fair competition principles in the market.
CLARIFICATION: According to Regulatory Act No. 1, dated 3.4.2026, “On an amendment to Law No. 61/2012 on excise duties in the Republic of Albania,” if the retail price of diesel exceeds 220 lek per liter or petrol exceeds 200 lek per liter, an 80% excise rate applies. Since current prices are below this threshold, the full 100% excise rate continues to apply.
