Concern in Korçë: Page blackmails minors with intimate photos; Some have attempted suicide

The inappropriate use of social media by young people has led to severe consequences, including loss of life, while blackmail and bullying have turned into traps for adolescents.

In Korçë, such a page attempts to tarnish the reputation of young people by blackmailing them with the publication of intimate photos and videos. Girls are often the victims of this pressure, some of whom have even contemplated suicide.

A girl recounts: “This page was created to bully and blackmail many people with various words. I want to complain because I have been affected as well…”

Another adds: “It’s a page that has published the girls from the city of Korça… We are upset because many girls have attempted suicide.”

The Korça Police have referred this issue as a cybercrime to the General Directorate, and concrete steps are expected for the identification and prosecution of the perpetrator.
