Dardhë: 20-year-old “Taverna Iliri” demolished by authorities ahead of tourist season

Instead of a warm welcome to the tourist season, Dardhë was met with concrete ruins. 

The National Inspectorate for the Protection of the Territory (IKMT) intervened by demolishing a well-known local business, “Taverna Iliri”—an establishment that had operated for nearly 20 years and had become part of the village’s touristic identity.

According to the owner, the economic damage is estimated at around 4 million ALL. He claims the demolition was sudden and unjust, carried out under the pretext of an added veranda with a few tables for tourist service. The entire structure was taken down without a clear prior warning, just as the area was preparing to welcome summer visitors.
