Drug tunnel! Cannabis bunker with 254 electrical devices; three people arrested and three OSHEE employees under investigation

Operations against the criminal activity of cultivating narcotic plants indoors continue.

The police operation codenamed “Neonët 9” has been finalized. The number of cases of this criminal activity uncovered within the framework of the “Neonët” operation has now reached 14.

In the “10 Korriku” neighborhood, an adapted space (a tunnel) used for cultivating narcotic plants was discovered, equipped with devices powered through illegal electricity connections.

Two suspected perpetrators of this criminal activity were caught in flagrante delicto at the site and arrested.

One OSHEE employee was also arrested and three others are being criminally investigated for abuse of office.

A total of 670 suspected cannabis seedlings and plants, along with 254 various electrical devices used for their cultivation, were seized.

As part of the action plan to identify and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants indoors, and based on operational intelligence, the specialized structures of the Shkodër Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Shkodër Police Commissariat and supported by the “Shqiponja” Special Force, carried out intensive inspections of indoor premises to detect and strike cases of cannabis cultivation using lamps, as well as the drying and processing of the plants for sale.

As a result, the police operation codenamed “Neonët 9” was organized and successfully concluded.

During the operation, police services discovered a tunnel in the yard of a house rented by citizen A.P., in the “10 Korriku” neighborhood, which had been adapted for cultivating narcotic plants, with equipment supplied through illegal electricity connections.

From inspections in this space, the following were found and seized as material evidence: 555 seedlings and 115 suspected cannabis plants, 126 lamps, 80 inventory devices, 31 LED panels, and 17 air filters used for the cultivation and drying of the narcotic plants.

Further actions led to the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizens A.P., 35 years old, resident of Shkodër, and K.H., 30 years old, resident of the village of Degë, Tropojë, who were caught inside the tunnel premises.

Additionally, citizen D.S., 40 years old, resident of Shkodër, was arrested, and investigations have begun against D.P., 32 years old, M.H., 35 years old, and F.V., 23 years old, OSHEE employees, for the criminal offense of “Abuse of Office,” committed in cooperation.

Work continues to fully document this criminal activity.

The procedural materials were forwarded to the Shkodër Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
