Fried chicken and French fries are undoubtedly very tasty.

However, regular consumption of these foods can be deadly.

This is according to a study by experts at the University of Iowa in the United States, referenced by AgroWeb.org.

The study’s findings show that people who eat more than one serving of fried foods per week are at a much higher risk of heart disease and premature death.

The impact is greater in women.

According to AgroWeb.org, previous studies have confirmed a link between fried foods, obesity, and high cholesterol levels.

In the study, which lasted from 1993 to 2017, 107,000 people aged 50 to 79 were analyzed.

During these decades, 31,588 of them suffered premature deaths due to heart disease or cancer.

Fried Foods Increase the Risk of Premature Diseases

One-third of participants who ate one or more fried meals per week were obese.

After analyzing other risk factors such as smoking and physical activity, scientists found that:

People who consumed more than one serving of fried food per day were 8–13% more at risk of premature diseases.

Eating one or more servings of fried chicken or fish per week increased the risk of premature diseases by 13%.

The Risks of Fried Foods

Previous studies have confirmed that excessive consumption of fried foods increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.

According to experts, the larger the servings of fried foods per day or per week, the higher the risk of these diseases.

Doctors advise that if you want to stay healthy, remove frying pans from your home and eliminate fried foods from your diet.
