Functional Exercise “Seismic 2025” in Korçë County

In cooperation with the National Civil Protection Agency (AKMC) and UNDP, the functional exercise “Seismic 2025” was carried out, aimed at strengthening the capacities of local structures to respond to natural disasters, particularly in the event of an earthquake.

During the exercise, the functioning of the Municipal Civil Protection Commission, as well as its coordination with other institutions, was tested in managing the situation and restoring normal life for citizens affected by the disaster.

The planned scenario simulated the evacuation of two schools in the city of Korçë: “Raqi Qirinxhi” High School and “Stavri Themeli” Nine-Year School.

This exercise serves as an important step toward improving the Local Civil Emergency Plan and strengthening cooperation between local and central structures in protecting citizens.
