Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is also the leader of the Socialist Party, held a meeting yesterday with the assembly of the Socialist Party, Unit 14, in Tirana. During his speech, Prime Minister Rama focused on the measure to increase pensions, emphasizing that with the growth of the economy, conditions have been created to raise pensions every year.

“Now everything is fully planned, so it is not something that depends on what will happen next year. Everything is planned, and the pension increase in January of this year will be doubled next January — that is, if it increased by x, it will become two times x next January, then three times in January 2028, four times in January 2029, and five times in January 2030,” Rama said.

The head of the government stated that the possibilities have now increased because the economy has grown. He also addressed those who link this increase to corruption:

“Those who keep saying that things are bad because we continue to succeed claim that corruption has increased. If corruption had increased, state revenues would not have grown, the ability to increase salaries would not have grown, if corruption had increased,” Rama continued.
