Great sadness in the academic world as Prof. As. Dr. Aida Kurani passes away

A sad news has deeply affected Albania’s academic community. Prof. As. Dr. Aida Kurani has passed away, leaving behind the legacy of a respected figure in education and one of the names that made a lasting contribution to university life.

Aida Kurani was born in Elbasan. After completing her higher education, she began her academic career at “Aleksandër Xhuvani” University. She later joined “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës, where she was among the founders of the institution.

For many years, Kurani served as a lecturer at the Faculty of Education, within the Department of Albanian Language, dedicating an important part of her life to lecture halls and students.

To her colleagues and students, she will be remembered for her professionalism, dedication, and kindness, while her contribution to the development and consolidation of the university’s academic life will remain an important part of its history.

Aleksandër Moisiu University has expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of its lecturer and one of its founding figures.

“Her contribution, dedication, and the lasting impact she left on students, colleagues, and the University’s academic life will always be remembered with respect and gratitude,” the university said in its message.

Aida Kurani leaves behind a legacy that goes beyond academic titles and years of service. She will be remembered for the knowledge she shared, the generations of students she helped educate, and her contribution to building the university’s academic life.

Today, her colleagues and students bid farewell to a lecturer and a woman who dedicated her life to education.

May Prof. As. Dr. Aida Kurani rest in peace. Her memory will live on among her students and colleagues and in the history of the university to which she devoted an important part of her life.
