A new 250-euro aid in Greece will be given every November to pensioners and other social groups in need.
The payment will be made automatically, without requiring an application from the recipient, and covers three main categories:
1. Low-income elderly pensioners aged 65 and above.
2. Single-person households or individuals with annual taxable income not exceeding 14,000 euros and property worth no more than 200,000 euros.
3. Married couples or cohabiting partners with annual income up to 26,000 euros and property not exceeding 300,000 euros.
Labor experts emphasize that for pensioners with disabilities, there are no age, income, or property requirements. Additionally, the benefit applies to uninsured elderly individuals (around 35,000 people) and those receiving social solidarity benefits.
The aid also covers pensioners with total disability, public-sector pensioners receiving sickness or disability benefits, and parents or guardians of children with disabilities. In total, around 1.4 million vulnerable citizens with low incomes are expected to benefit.
To receive the November 2025 payment, recipients must have turned 65 by December 2024 and have been receiving a regular pension since September 2024.
Family annual income is calculated based on all sources, including rental income, and also takes into account any income from pensioners who continue working.
