Happy 59th birthday to former Balkan champion Anila Menkshi Kasati!

The great Korça athlete Anila Kasati Mekshi celebrates her 59th birthday today.

Anila Mekshi is one of the athletes with a remarkable sporting history in athletics. Alongside numerous championship titles since her youth, in the 800, 1500, 2000, 3000, 5000 and 10,000 meters races, Anila Kasati Mekshi has won many medals in various Balkan competitions and beyond.

In 1986, at the Balkan Championship for juniors, she won two medals, while she also became Balkan champion in 1991 and in 1996.

The story of the Korça athlete is the story of Albanian athletics.

Anila is the athlete who, together with a coach like Piro Kasati and alongside other athletes such as Pavlina Evro and Donika Hanxhara, gave Korça a history that will be difficult to repeat.
