Pandeli Nakoleci, 40, is expected to appear today before the court in Greece, after the murder of his 36-year-old wife— a serious incident that took place in the city of Volos, in front of their children.

After the crime, he managed to evade the police for more than 30 hours, hiding in a patch of bushes only 200 meters away from the family home. His arrest took place on Thursday afternoon, around 16:00, thanks to a phone call from a local resident who had noticed his movements.

Nakoleci was captured without resistance and, as soon as he was handcuffed, he told the officers: *“She was cheating on me. What else should I have done?”*

According to investigations, the 40-year-old stabbed his wife, Marjola Nakoleci, twice: once in the neck and then in the back. Security camera footage helped the police reconstruct his route after the incident and uncover his hiding place.

Greek authorities stated that Nakoleci had no record of domestic violence, but in the past he had been accused of participation in a criminal organization and violations of drug laws. Moreover, on June 28, 2025, by order of the prosecutor’s office, he had been sent for examination and treatment at a psychiatric clinic.
