Heart attacks and other circulation problems can be caused or worsened by exposure to extreme heat and sudden temperature changes, such as immediately entering cold water after being in the sun.

When you stay in the sun for a long time and then immediately enter cold water, a sudden narrowing of the blood vessels occurs, which can raise blood pressure and cause sudden stress on the heart. This can lead to:
