The head of Hamas’ political bureau and chief negotiator in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, was initially reported killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Qatari capital, Doha. According to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hadath TV, other senior Hamas leaders — including Zaher Jabareen, Khaled Mashaal, and Nizar Awdallah — were also said to have died in the same strike.

Early reports from Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath cited their own sources to confirm the deaths. However, Hamas officials have denied these claims. In a statement to Al Jazeera, a senior figure from the Palestinian militant group said: *“The Hamas leadership meeting in Doha survived the Israeli strike.”*

The situation remains tense and unclear, with conflicting reports reflecting the complexity of the international landscape surrounding Hamas and Israel’s military operations.
