The number of drivers caught driving under the influence of alcohol and attempting to bribe Road Police officers has risen to four.
A 35-year-old man offered 100 euros to avoid taking the alcohol test and is now facing criminal proceedings.
The test showed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol (0.46 mg/l).
During traffic monitoring, the Road Police Sector, tasked with identifying and punishing violations of the Traffic Code, stopped D.K. on the “Ura e Dajlanit – Shkozet” road section, suspecting that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police officers informed the driver that he would undergo an alcohol test. At that moment, D.K. attempted to bribe the officers by offering 100 euros to avoid taking the test.
The alcohol test confirmed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, with a level of 0.46 mg/l.
Following procedural actions, criminal proceedings were initiated against D.K., 35, resident of Kavajë, for the offense of “Active corruption of persons exercising public functions.”
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Durrës for further action.
