Protest ends, Kapshtica resumes operations and traffic returns to normal

The Kapshtica border crossing point resumed normal operations at 09:00 this Monday, after around four hours of closure caused by a protest by Greek customs officers.

With the reopening of the border point, vehicle and pedestrian traffic immediately resumed in both directions, while travelers are carrying out crossing procedures to and from Greece.

The temporary closure occurred after Greek customs employees stopped work as part of a protest, preventing vehicles and citizens from crossing for several hours.

Greek authorities have warned that similar protests may take place in the coming days, which could once again cause delays and difficulties in traffic flow at this border crossing point.

Travelers planning to cross through Kapshtica are advised to follow announcements from authorities for any possible changes in the operation of the border point.
