The government's decision to significantly restrict music in nightclubs and tourist venues has sparked strong reactions from businesses and the artistic community, who view the measure as another blow to the entertainment and tourism sectors.

Under the new noise management regulations, music played in venues will be monitored through decibel measurements, with the permitted noise level set at 45 decibels. Artists argue that this limit makes it virtually impossible to hold live performances.

Singer Endri Prifti strongly criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama, opposing the new policies governing music in public venues.

"Rama, where have you ever seen anything like this? You've made life miserable for these people—you've turned it into hell. Are you really going to depopulate this country even more? You're damaging tourism!" he said.

His brother, singer Stefi Prifti, also opposed the decision, saying that artists had hoped the operating hours for live music would be extended during the summer season, in line with practices in neighboring countries.

"There was a glimmer of hope that the hours for live music performances might be extended a little, especially during the summer season. But it turned out to be nothing more than an illusion," he wrote.
