Residents of the village of Luz in Fushë-Krujë took to the streets again today to protest the deplorable condition of the village’s main road.

Joining the residents were students from “Gjon Luka” school, who said they get dirty every day walking to school and fear the trucks that often mount the sidewalks to avoid the giant potholes.

Yesterday afternoon, a truck dumped gravel to fill some of the largest potholes, but authorities have not provided any response regarding when the road will be fully reconstructed. This road is also a key economic artery, with over 1,000 trucks passing daily, transporting cement, lime, and other materials across the country and even for export.

Residents say they will continue their protests and warn that they will escalate them if no serious action is taken to reconstruct the road.
