SAD NEWS | Valbona Mehmeti, the official who contributed to the Handball Federation of Kosovo for two and a half decades, has passed away

Valbona Mehmeti, the financial officer of the Handball Federation of Kosovo, has passed away.

She was a vital part of the federation’s administration for two and a half decades, having served since the year 2000.

Her contribution to the smooth functioning of the federation, and consequently to Kosovar handball, is invaluable. She was known for her excellent relationships with everyone, exemplary communication with club officials, handball workers, and players, as well as her dedication to enhancing the image of the Handball Federation of Kosovo and safeguarding its assets.

For many years, the late Valbona battled a severe illness. The staff of the Handball Federation of Kosovo stood by her side until her final days.

“We received the news of our dear colleague Valbona Mehmeti’s passing with great sorrow. She served our federation for a long period, and her contribution to the Kosovar handball community is immeasurable. On behalf of the Kosovar handball community, and especially the staff of the FHK, I extend my deepest condolences to the esteemed Mehmeti family,” reads the condolence message from FHK President Edin Kolgeci.

The funeral of the late Valbona Mehmeti will take place today at 14:45 in the city cemetery in Pristina.
