“Scorching week, temperatures up to 36 degrees,” the meteorologist reports the weather conditions

Meteorologist Tanja Porja has warned of a week with high temperatures across the country, where the thermometer is expected to reach up to 36 degrees Celsius. She said the weather will be characterized by intense heat, but also isolated showers in some areas of the country. The weekend is expected to be suitable for going to the beach.

“Today at midday, temperatures are expected to reach around 34–35°C. However, after midday we will see an increase in cloudiness mainly in the southeastern and eastern areas, where there is a possibility of short, isolated showers. In fact, these will be local rain showers. What is expected to happen next, as we have said before, is that the period of very high temperatures continues. Tomorrow we also expect a further increase in temperatures, at least by 1 degree both in the morning and at midday, ranging from 13 to 36°C. Likewise, the second part of the day will again bring short showers in the same areas, the southeast and east of Albanian territory.”

According to Porja, Thursday will bring a slight drop in temperatures, while rainfall will cover a wider area of the country.

“Meanwhile, Thursday brings a slight decrease in temperature values at midday hours. We again have showers. This time on Thursday we expect showers in the north and the eastern half of the country, meaning a more widespread area of short showers in the second part of the day compared to today and Wednesday.”

The meteorologist emphasized that the weekend is expected to be mostly clear, with little and isolated rainfall only in eastern mountainous areas.

“Friday and the weekend will be almost without rainfall, and if there is any, it will be very isolated in the eastern mountainous areas of the country. Most of Albania will experience clear skies and passing clouds, mainly in the second part of the day. Temperatures will gradually and slightly decrease both in the morning and at midday.”

She added that although temperatures will gradually drop over the weekend, the weather will remain hot across the country.

“However, despite the decrease in temperature values, which are no longer expected to reach 34 or 35 from Friday to Sunday, temperatures will remain quite high, above 30°C across most of Albania. Not below 9 degrees nationwide on Sunday, while maximums will be around 31°C on Sunday. Friday and Saturday will be slightly warmer with 32–33°C, creating quite comfortable conditions for coastal areas.”
