SKËNDERBEU / Here’s when Luko Vázquez arrives! What’s happening with Merlim and Ramos?

While the latest headline from Skënderbeu has been the loan of Bismark to Vllaznia for the European matches, another piece of good news has just arrived.

It concerns Luko Vázquez, the tall Colombian defender who has not yet joined the Skënderbeu squad and remains outside the orders of coach Ernest Gjoka.

Sources indicate that Vázquez is expected to arrive in Korçë within the next 2–3 days at the latest. His delay, however, has already led to disciplinary action — the club has fined him for violating internal regulations, as he was supposed to report to Korçë back on June 25, when the team began its summer preparations.

Now, with his arrival expected by Tuesday at the latest, the club sees this as a positive development.

On the other hand, the absence of Marko Ramos and Juri Merlim is cause for concern. Both players have also been fined by the club due to their prolonged delays. Despite having valid contracts with Skënderbeu, neither has shown interest in continuing with the team, reportedly due to their reluctance to play in the First Division. It remains unclear whether they will return or pursue a way out.

In terms of incoming transfers, Skënderbeu is actively working to finalize the arrival of at least two new players, a central defender and a winger to replace Ardit Nikaj. The names are not being disclosed at this stage, but both are expected to join by next week.

With movements on both ends exits and arrivals Skënderbeu is going through a very active and intense summer transfer window, aiming to rebuild a competitive team for the new season.
