Skënderbeu parts ways with three foreign players. The club will focus on Korçë talents

Three foreign players of Skënderbeu’s men’s volleyball team will no longer be part of the squad for the upcoming season. The club has decided not to renew their contracts, signaling a clear shift in the way the team is being built.

A few days ago, the club confirmed the continuation of coach Arben Prifti after a very successful season in which Skënderbeu finished as runners-up in Albania. The decision to keep Prifti was expected, given the positive results and his steady leadership throughout the championship.

However, what stood out in the club’s official announcement was the statement that next season’s team will be built primarily with local players, mostly from Korça. This means the departure of foreign players and a focus on developing local talents.

This is an important step that could bring greater long-term stability to the club and strengthen its bond with the city’s sports community.
