Smuggling clothes from Greece, 49-year-old Estela Kapo arrested in Albania

The manager of a clothing store in Yzberisht was arrested by the police for selling clothes smuggled from Greece. The 49-year-old woman arrested has been identified as Estela Kapo.


According to the police, the clothes are suspected to have been stolen in Greece and then smuggled into Albania.


After the inspections, the authorities reported that the store on “Demneri” street was blocked, and the clothing items were seized as evidence.


“The Economic-Financial Crimes Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Directorate for Volume Crimes at the General Directorate of Police, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed ‘Outlet’ based on the information obtained regarding a case of goods smuggling. As a result, the following individual was arrested:


E. K., 49, resident of Tirana.


During the inspection of the commercial premises managed by this individual on ‘Demneri’ street, Yzberisht, a considerable amount of various clothing items was found and seized, for which she did not have customs documentation or purchase invoices,” the police announced today.


The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
