SPAC rejects the request: Veliaj is not allowed to participate in the City Council meetings

SPAC has not approved the request from the Tirana City Council, which asked for Erion Veliaj to be physically present at the council meetings.

The council had sent an official request to the Special Prosecutor’s Office for his participation in the session where the budget would be discussed.

Veliaj has been in pre-trial detention since February, and has left his cell only once, on the day he attended the Constitutional Court session. This court decided to restore him to his mandate as Mayor of Tirana.
