Starting today, the police have decided to stop the use of electric scooters, also known as e-scooters.
The announcement was made yesterday by Minister Albana Koçiu, who publicized the new public safety rules regarding the use of electric scooters.
Following this, enforcement has begun on the streets, with scooter users being stopped by the authorities.
One citizen, a teacher, expressed her dissatisfaction with the decision, as it prevents her from going to work.
“They should set rules for teenagers and those who use them without protective gear, but not for me, since I follow the rules,” said the frustrated citizen.
The temporary ban on e-scooters comes due to the increasing number of accidents involving them.
Last year alone, 991 accidents caused by e-scooters were recorded.
