After the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the decisions taken on Wednesday, April 29 were announced.
The Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, once again emphasized the country’s integration process into the European Union. In this context, she stated that the government has tripled the budget for scientific research.
“I would like to share with you today a piece of news that is especially good for the world of scientific research, for universities, both public and private, but also for any other institution or private company interested in scientific research products, because today we completed, with a decision of the Council of Ministers, the 12th bylaw in implementation of the 2024 Science Law, which is a very important package for the organization of institutions and scientific research in general, in line with the directives and regulations of the European Commission and the European Union. With the completion of this act, we also take the final legal step in fulfilling our obligations for Chapter 25, which is the chapter on scientific research, which has been worked on for several years, one of the first two chapters expected to close negotiations within this year,” said Kumbaro.
She also spoke about after-school projects and other programs for students.
“These are projects that have been developing in different forms for 10 years. In schools where significant investments have been made, they will also remain open for activities after classes end. The whole package of activities that accompany students’ educational life. We will also add the Foreign Languages Olympiad,” Kumbaro said.
“Schools will be equipped with spaces for students to eat meals,” the minister added.
