Tax evasion and health violations at dental clinic, 100,000 euros of goods seized

A dental clinic in the “Don Bosko” area was discovered to be operating illegally, committing tax evasion and using expired products in treatments for patients.

The police operation, codenamed “Dentistry,” carried out by specialists from the Section for the Investigation of Money Laundering and Criminal Assets, was conducted as a result of information obtained through operational channels regarding illegal economic activity and violations endangering public health.

During the inspection of the clinic premises, the following were seized:

300 bottles of dental products, most of them expired

Invoices not accompanied by customs clearance documentation

Non-fiscalized receipts, with a total estimated value of around 100,000 euros

At the conclusion of the operation, the clinic’s administrator, Turkish citizen A. Y., 59, was arrested, while the following were prosecuted in a state of liberty:

Two laboratory assistants, L. S., 21, and A. A., 42

Authorities continue their investigations to determine the economic damage caused to the state through tax evasion. The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for further legal action.
