The second week of January has begun with rainfall across the country. Anira Gjoni from the Institute of Geosciences stated that the rain will continue until Thursday. The districts most affected will be especially Shkodra and Vlora.

“In the districts of Shkodër, Kukës, Vlorë, and Gjirokastër, we will have heavy rainfall, which may cause flooding of small mountain rivers and landslides.

In the rest of the districts, rainfall will be moderate. From January 5 to 8, we expect an increase in the flow of the Mat, Drin, Buna, and Vjosa rivers,” Gjoni said.

During these three days, temperatures are forecasted as follows:

Coastal areas: 13–17°C

Lowland areas: 12–16°C

Mountain areas: 6–9°C

Regarding Thursday, temperatures are expected to drop by 5°C for both minimum and maximum values.

In mountain areas, minimum temperatures could reach -4°C, Gjoni added, noting that as a result of these temperatures, snow and frost are expected again in the north.
