The arrival of Archbishop Joan in Constantinople

On Friday, June 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM, His Beatitude, the Archbishop of Tirana, Durres, and all of Albania, Joan, arrived at Istanbul International Airport, accompanied by the official delegation of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.

At the VIP area of the airport, the Archbishop was received with honors by the Metropolitan of Silliwri, Mr. Maxim, and the Deputy Secretary of the Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Deacon Oikoumenios. The Consul General of Albania in Istanbul, Mr. Armand Shandro, also attended the reception and expressed the support of the Albanian diplomatic mission for this visit.

After arrival, the delegation was accommodated at the Grand Hyatt Istanbul hotel, where they will stay during the official visit.

This visit represents an important moment for interchurch relations and the deepening of fraternal dialogue within the Orthodox Church.
