The Transparency Board, on 18 April 2026, in its regular meeting, decided:

The retail selling price of diesel fuel (standard SSH EN 590) shall be no more than 197 ALL per litre, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 185 ALL per litre.

The retail selling price of petrol (benzine) shall be no more than 172 ALL per litre, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 160 ALL per litre.

The prices set by the Board will enter into force today, 18 April at 10:30 and will remain valid until the next Board meeting, where any changes in selling prices will be reflected.

We draw the attention of all wholesale and retail operators of petroleum products to the obligation to comply with this decision.

In case of violations by operators, suspension of activity will be imposed.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, are committed to protecting the interests of Albanian consumers and maintaining the principles of fair competition in the market.

CLARIFICATION: Referring to Normative Act No. 1, dated 3.4.2026, “On an amendment to Law No. 61/2012, ‘On excise duties in the Republic of Albania,’ as amended,” it is provided that if the retail price of diesel is higher than 220 ALL/litre, or petrol is higher than 200 ALL/litre, the 80% excise level applies. Based on the methodology for calculating retail price ceilings, the prices are below the threshold of Normative Act No. 1 dated 3.4.2026, and therefore the excise level will be applied in full, at 100%.
