Pogradec managed only a draw today against Apollonia in a match held in Pogradec. The visitors took the lead first with a goal from Trifini, and two minutes later, Pogradec equalized with a goal from Danaldi.
In the final moments, especially in the first minute of added time, the Pogradec players claimed for an unawarded penalty. This was confirmed by captain Vangjel Zguro, who stated: “For me, the foul on Pui at the end of the match was a clear penalty. This can still be seen now from the video footage, showing how our player was hit on the leg. I regret that the referee of this match didn’t even bother to go to the monitor to review the moment, which would have been assisted by the VAR system.
It is unacceptable to be penalized in this way; let the team that deserved to win take the match. We’re not against losses when we don’t deserve it. We are not asking for help, but at least the referee should give us what is rightfully ours.”
Zguro, as the captain, had also asked referee Vrapi to review the moment on the monitor, and his request was punished with a yellow card by the referee. This decision caused some dissatisfaction among the Pogradec supporters, who were in large numbers at the match.
