MESSAGE FROM THE MUFTI OF KORÇA

ON THE OCCASION OF THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH OF RAMADAN 2025 – 1446 H

Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful!

Dear believers, Tomorrow, on March 1st, the blessed month of Ramadan begins, a sacred month that invites us to deep reflection and spiritual purification.

On this occasion, I have the pleasure and honor to extend my best wishes to all Muslim believers of the Korça region: Happy and blessed Ramadan!

The Almighty says in His noble book: “The month of Ramadan [is that] in which the Qur’an was revealed, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So, whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it…” (Al-Baqara, 185).

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Ramadan has come to you, a blessed month. Allah has made fasting during it obligatory upon you. In this month, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.”

Dear brothers and sisters,

The arrival of this honored guest is great news for all Muslims, filling their hearts with immense joy. This joy is not only felt by adults but also by the little ones, for whom fasting is not yet an obligation. The days of this month carry a unique sweetness, a comforting and peaceful essence. The hearts of the devout long for the blessings and mercy of the Creator.

The month of Ramadan is the month of patience, prayer, the Qur’an, generosity, love, human values, respect, and devotion to the Creator. During this month, let us awaken our beautiful emotions, ignite our hopes, cleanse our conscience, and pray fervently. Islam has placed great importance on congregational worship, but Allah has also given individuals the opportunity to worship Him personally. This applies to Ramadan as well.

Dear brothers and sisters, Ramadan is a divine invitation, an annual opportunity to recognize our responsibilities towards Allah, ourselves, our families, relatives, and society. Let us not forget, during these days, those who are in need of our help. In our iftars, let us ensure that families in need are not left out, and let us extend our generosity to them.

Beloved believers, wherever you are, I pray to Allah to accept our fasting, worship, and good deeds. May this month bring us blessings, goodness, and peace in our families and throughout society.

May your fasting be easy and accepted!
