According to meteorologist Tanja Porja, the month of February in Albania is expected to be characterized by low temperatures, which will drop as low as -7°C, making it one of the coldest Februarys in the past five years. She emphasized that temperatures will remain low for most of the month, with only a short warming period between February 15 and 17. This slight increase in temperatures will be followed by a few days of rainfall, mainly between February 18 and 22.
Regarding precipitation, the meteorologist stated that rainfall has been scarce throughout February, and this trend is expected to continue for most of the month. Apart from the three rainy days in mid-February, significant precipitation is not expected across the country. Until February 18, rainfall will be minimal and short-lived, not affecting the entire territory in the same way.
Temperatures in the coming days will remain low, with minimums dropping to -7°C in some areas. In mid-February, particularly on February 14, the weather will be sunny but cold, consistent with the trend of most past Valentine’s Days. Porja jokingly mentioned that around midday, people might feel comfortable enough to take off their jackets for a short time, but temperatures will not experience a significant rise.
By the end of the month, another drop in temperatures is expected, closing out a February that will be colder compared to the last five years. This trend of dry and cold weather is likely to influence the climate conditions of the following month as well.
Overall, February 2025 is set to be a cold month, with little rainfall and temperatures that, in many cases, will be below the average values of recent years.
