The new road in Murrash, how it will change the journey to Librazhd

The Murrash bends, located about 4 kilometers before the city of Librazhd, represent one of the most characteristic segments of the road in this area. The roadway “winds” along the valley, running parallel to the flow of the Shkumbin River.

In this area, important elements of both road and railway infrastructure intertwine. Two railway tunnels, known as Murrash 1 and Murrash 2, extend along the existing line, with the first having a length of about 920 meters and the second about 250 meters. Between them lies a bridge that crosses over the Shkumbin River, creating a very distinctive منظر.

Meanwhile, along the same axis, the automotive tunnel of Corridor 8 is also under construction, a strategic project expected to significantly improve road connections and reduce travel time on this segment.

Another important natural feature in this area is the confluence of the Rrapun River with the Shkumbin River, near the place known as “Çezma.” This water source, located by the roadside, is a well-known stop for travelers, who refill with drinking water.

The combination of nature, infrastructure, and new development projects makes this segment a point of particular interest both for travelers and for the economic development of the area.
