The race for the Director of the State Police: today is the deadline for applications, here are the names expected to submit their candidacies

Today closes the seven-day application period for the race for the position of General Director of the State Police. So far, two applications have been submitted: Elidon Çela, Director of Vlorë Police, and Pëllumb Seferi, Director for International Relations at the State Police Directorate.

In the coming hours, other names are expected to submit applications, including Skënder Hitaj, Director of Fier Police; Afrim Tafa, Director of Durrës Police; Neritan Nallbati, Director of Criminal Police; and former Tirana Police Director, Tonin Vocaj. Other senior officials are also expected to compete.

After the application deadline ends, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will publish the list of candidates on its official website. Within 10 days, a Special Commission composed of three members chaired by a Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, with the General Secretary of the Ministry and the head of the Police Oversight Agency as members will conduct a preliminary evaluation to verify legal eligibility.
