The race officially begins: CEC registers three parties for the November 9 elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that it has registered three electoral subjects for the partial local elections to be held on November 9, 2025. In today’s meeting, the State Election Commissioner reviewed the applications of three political parties for their registration as participating subjects in these elections, which will take place in the municipalities of Vlorë, Tepelenë, Cërrik, and Berat.

Following the review, the registration of the following parties was approved: the Socialist Party of Albania, the Movement for National Development, and the Albania Becomes Movement. The final deadline for the registration of political parties for these elections is October 14, 2025.

In the same session, the Commission also approved several content elements of the ballot paper that will be used in the mayoral elections in the respective local government units.

Additionally, a decision was made to grant the mandate to Shkurt Lasku, member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania and candidate on the multi-member list of the Social Democratic Party in Shkodër County, for the parliamentary elections held on May 11, 2025.
