The Executive Committee of the Albanian Football Association (FSHF) has approved a new proposal to change the regulations of the “Abissnet Superiore” championship for the “Final 4” phase.

After a consultative meeting with club leaders, where the majority expressed support for this proposal, the Executive Committee decided to approve it. Thus, starting from the 2025-2026 season, the “Final 4” phase will operate under the following regulations:

The championship will have 4 regular phases, with home and away matches. The standings after 36 weeks will determine the participants in the Final 4. The top four teams qualify for the Final 4. Points in the Final 4 will be halved, based on the lower total of points.

A total of 6 matches will be played with the following schedule:

Week 1, 1st place vs 4th place; 2nd place vs 3rd place

Week 2, 1st place vs 3rd place; 2nd place vs 4th place

Week 3, 1st place vs 2nd place; 3rd place vs 4th place

All matches will be held at the “Air Albania” Stadium.

Qualification for European competitions will be determined by the Final 4 standings.

The 9th and 10th placed teams in the “Abissnet Superiore” will be relegated.

The 8th placed team will enter a “play-out” phase.

In case of a points tie between two or more teams during the “Final 4” phase, the ranking will be decided by the following criteria:

  • Points collected in direct matches during the regular championship and Final 4 phase;

  • Goal difference (scored minus conceded) in direct matches during the regular championship and Final 4 phase;

  • Overall goal difference throughout the entire season (championship + Final 4).
