The village elder of Gështenjas in Pogradec has spoken about the tragic incident in which electrician Agim Beqiri lost his life while on duty.
He said that the 60-year-old had been notified about the electrical fault on Saturday evening. After arriving and identifying the problem, Beqiri had left the repair work for Sunday morning, as soon as daylight came, even though it was his day off.
According to the village elder, the electrician was a respected member of the community, known for his professionalism and dedication to his work.
“He was a good man, responsible and honest. After identifying the fault last night, he came today to fix it, even though it was his day off. He was a very hardworking and approachable person. We are deeply saddened. Condolences to his family,” said the village elder of Gështenjas.
