Two days after the inauguration, President Trump and the First Lady celebrate their wedding anniversary: Happy 20th Anniversary, Melania!

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary today. The anniversary coincides two days after Trump’s inauguration as the President of the United States. Trump, through an Instagram post, congratulated his wife on their wedding anniversary.

“Happy 20th Anniversary, Melania!” he wrote.

In 2005, long before Trump became the 45th and now the 47th President of the United States, he married his fiancée, model Melania Knauss, in a ceremony with 350 guests at the “Episcopal Church of Bethesda-By-the-Sea” in Palm Beach, Florida. The couple met in 1998 at a party in New York City. Their wedding was followed by a star-studded reception at his Mar-a-Lago estate. The luxurious wedding was described at the time as fitting for a royal family, from the spectacular gown worn by Melania Trump to the perfectly decorated reception at Trump’s private club.

The future First Lady wore a $100,000 Christian Dior wedding dress. The dress featured a 16-foot-long veil covered with beads, which is said to have required over 500 hours of hand sewing to create, according to published accounts of the event in The Palm Beach Post and The Palm Beach Daily News at the time.

The hall at Mar-a-Lago was reportedly decorated with 10,000 flowers for the occasion. The chefs served caviar, and Cristal champagne was available for the 500 guests. In a January 2005 account, The Palm Beach Daily News stated that the dinner included “caviar-filled beggar’s purses, filet mignon with a twist, miniature wedding cakes, and the finest Cristal poured into one of those magical glasses that is never empty.”
