The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, has made known the government’s position regarding the current level of inflation, measures for vulnerable groups, as well as some of the main economic projects expected to come to life during the coming months?

During a statement to the media, the minister said that after the latest decision on pension indexation in July, the level of inflation in the country is currently close to 3%. For this reason, according to her, it is not considered that the country is in conditions where price increases are unaffordable, but she confirmed that the government remains ready for supportive interventions if the situation requires it.

In addition to the situation with consumer prices, Ibrahimaj also revealed three of the main pillars where the ministry’s work is focused:

Pension reform: Within the month of September, the government will publicly present the components and main areas where interventions will be made in the current pension scheme.

New investment law: Within this year, the new legal framework for strategic investments is expected to be approved. The consultation process will begin during the summer, with the aim of aligning it with European Union standards and attracting capital to less developed areas.

Zvërnec project: The minister explained that there is still no final approved project, as work is ongoing by architects and environmental experts. She emphasized that this investment, estimated at around €4 billion, represents a major boost for the national economy, whose Gross Domestic Product is calculated at €27 billion.
