During this week, the country’s territory has faced a cold winter wave, bringing very low temperatures across all regions, especially in mountainous areas. According to meteorologist Lajda Porja, the coldest day was Wednesday, when minimum temperatures dropped to extreme levels, particularly in the north and northeast of the country.

However, meteorologists predict an improvement in the weather starting from the weekend. According to the latest meteorological data, the cold wave is gradually retreating, leading to a significant rise in temperatures. This morning recorded an increase of at least 2 degrees compared to the previous day. Despite this rise, minimum temperatures remain in negative values, with the coldest areas being Bulqiza and Peshkopia, where temperatures have dropped to -5 degrees Celsius.

The weekend is expected to be stable in terms of atmospheric conditions. Rainfall will not be present, while Saturday will be characterized by more hours of sunshine. Morning and nighttime temperatures in mountainous areas will remain low, ranging from -3 to -4 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, during midday, temperatures will gradually rise, reaching up to 16 degrees Celsius in the warmest parts of the country.

According to short-term forecasts, this gradual temperature increase will continue in the coming days. By the end of February, temperatures will return to normal climatic values for this time of year. This means that, after a cold period, the country will experience milder atmospheric conditions, bringing more favorable weather for outdoor activities and an early spring-like atmosphere.

Overall, this situation is expected to have a positive impact on agriculture as well, creating more favorable conditions for fieldwork. Meanwhile, citizens are advised to be prepared for temperature fluctuations, as mornings will still be chilly despite the gradual increase during the day.
