After the arrest of Gjovalin Shkambi, who threatened judges with bullets, the uncle of the man who killed Judge Elvis Shkambi, the family has issued a reaction.

Through a public statement, the relatives ask for understanding regarding the severe emotional situation and call for respect for the legal process, distancing themselves from any form of violence or hate speech.

Gjovalin Shkambi had threatened that there would be more killings in the justice system if his nephew, Elvis Shkambi, were convicted. Elvis Shkambi has been remanded to prison along with another uncle, Gjon Shkambi.

Reaction of the Shkambi family:

We begin this message by expressing our sincerest condolences to the family of the deceased judge.

We express deep regret for the entire situation created after our father’s statements.

We publicly apologize for the words he used, which, as he himself has admitted, were spoken in a moment of impulsiveness and great shock.

Although justice has not yet reached a final conclusion on this matter, we in no way wish to use hate speech against people who are carrying out their duty, and we respect the legal processes that are underway.

We are fully aware that threats cannot be justified under any circumstances, but we ask for understanding regarding the serious emotional and psychological state in which our father found himself at those moments.

As family members, we fully understand the gravity and sensitivity of this event, but we kindly ask the media to avoid as much as possible intruding into our family life, as our father was questioned and recorded during extremely difficult moments and in a distressed psychological condition.

We hope that justice and calm will prevail, and that God will do what is best for everyone.

With respect,

The family of Gjovalin Shkambi
