15-year-old student shoots teacher at a school, then takes his own life

A 15-year-old student shot and injured a teacher at a high school in Texas before taking his own life, local authorities have reported.

According to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, the injured teacher was rushed to a hospital in San Antonio, and her current condition remains unclear.

“A teacher was shot by a student and taken to the hospital. We currently have no information on her condition,” the authorities said in an official statement.

The suspected perpetrator, a 15-year-old, was later found dead. According to Sheriff Mark Reynolds, it is believed that he first shot the teacher and then turned the gun on himself.

Immediately following the incident, police forces secured the area and intervened in the school complex to ensure safety, evacuating the students.
