In Korçë, 130 years are being marked since the reconstruction of the Holy Metropolis, one of the most important religious and historical heritage sites of the city.

In 1896, during the time of Metropolitan Gjervasi of Korçë, the Metropolis was rebuilt through the generous expenses and noble contribution of the benefactors, the brothers Adam, Thoma, Dionis, and Gjergj Adami. The reconstruction came after a difficult period, as the previous building had been burned down by an unknown hand.

This act of generosity and dedication remains a strong testament to the role that the community and philanthropic families have played over the years in preserving the spiritual and cultural identity of Korçë.

The Holy Metropolis of Korçë continues to stand as a symbol of faith, history, and the continuity of religious tradition in the city, representing one of the most important monuments of Albanian Orthodox heritage.
