TikTok seems to be returning online just a few hours after newly elected President Donald Trump vowed to sign an executive order delaying the ban of the app in the U.S. after taking office.

Around 12 hours after it was first shut down, American users have started regaining access to TikTok on web browsers and the app, although the page still displays a warning about the shutdown.

Late Saturday night, TikTok became unusable for Americans, who were notified with a message saying that the app was out of service due to the ban, which the Supreme Court upheld on Friday, and asking users to “stay tuned.”

TikTok’s decision to completely shut down the app, which the company had warned it would do, ended weeks of uncertainty. It also marked a significant disruption for 170 million American TikTok users, many of whom use the app for hours every day to find news, entertainment, and community, and in some cases, to earn a living.

The law, which required the app to be shut down in the U.S. on Sunday unless it was divested from Chinese ownership, allows the president to delay its enforcement by 90 days through an executive order. Trump indicated earlier today that he plans to do so after taking the oath of office on Monday.
