AH3N2 Virus in Circulation / Pediatrician: If the temperature exceeds 39°C, it is considered a high-risk case

Respiratory viruses are circulating widely across the country. In Albania, the dominant virus at the moment is AH3N2, which is mainly associated with general body aches, fatigue, and fever.

Although the epidemiological situation is considered normal for this time of year, pediatrician Bektash Mandri calls for increased caution, especially for children and vulnerable age groups.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 continues to circulate as well, but according to the doctor, the current variants do not present severe clinical forms.

Mandri emphasizes that temperatures exceeding 39 degrees Celsius are considered dangerous in pediatric ages and require immediate medical evaluation.

According to the pediatrician, the emergency department of QSUT continues to face a high influx of patients, as many citizens seek emergency care even for symptoms that could be treated by their family doctor.

He appeals to parents to consult their family doctor first before going to the emergency room.
